PHILOSOPHY

Dr. Lauri Barge was voted the Best Dentist in Denton County for 2007 by the Readers of The News Connection. Dr. Barge and her entire staff have undergone training at the famed Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies – a premiere post graduate dentistry institute. They teach advanced treatment techniques and position-specific training to compliment services provided. LVI has given post-graduate certifications to just over 3,000 dentists worldwide. They specialize in advanced comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry that most dentists have not trained for.

Dr. Barge also belongs to area dental study groups to keep up-to-the-minute on the latest techniques.  In all areas of her profession, she exceeds state education requirements many times over. Her staff averages over 16 years experience.

Upon entry, Dr. Barge’s office looks straight out of Modern Luxury Magazine.  Comfortable, plush couches and soft chairs compliment the stone-chiseled pillars and mahogany wood doorways. Even their waiting rooms pack the utmost of comfort: thick cushioned chairs are smothered by natural lighting, and every patient in the much-dreaded chair gets a perfect view of a large screen television, perfect for passing the time during long procedures.

Her high-tech office offers more than just a few luxuries. Some of the new technology employed by Dr. Barge includes digital x-rays, which increases their ability to diagnose and subsequently treat patients. This method also decreases the patient's amount of radiation exposure compared to traditional x-rays. They also use intra-oral cameras, allowing the doctor to take photos of the problem areas in the mouth and show the patient what she is concerned about and why. Dr. Barge and her staff utilize sterilization techniques above and beyond the industry standards to reduce the risk of infections.

We treat kids, too. We try to make it as gentile as possible. We want kids to be good patients when they grow up! A lot of us had bad experiences with dentists when we were young, but a lot has changed since then and it doesn't always have to be so traumatic. A lot of staff members have children of their own, and they are sensitive to a child's fear of the dentist.
